How it works

From first call to follow-through.

Every engagement follows the same deliberate process, so you always know what's happening, what comes next, and what you'll walk away with.

  1. Initial consultation

Tell us what's going on: a new diagnosis, an upcoming surgery, a parent's hospital stay. We'll talk through your situation and your goals, and decide together whether PCA is the right fit. If it isn't, we'll tell you.

    • No obligation
    • By phone or video
  2. Onboarding & intake

When you decide to move forward, we take care of the essentials: a clear client agreement, the authorizations that allow us to speak with your care team, and a secure way to share your relevant medical records.

    • Agreement & authorizations
    • Secure record sharing
  3. Clinical preparation

Your advocate reviews your history, current medications when relevant, and the questions you most want answered, then sets clear objectives for the appointment so the time with your clinician counts.

    • A prepared question list
    • Clear goals for the visit
  4. The appointment

With your permission, we attend alongside you, in person or virtually. We listen carefully, help clarify terminology and recommendations, and make sure your key concerns are addressed before the visit ends.

    • In person or virtual
    • Your questions asked
  5. Written summary

Afterward, you receive a clear, professional summary in plain language: what was discussed, what was recommended, what's still unanswered, and exactly what happens next.

  6. Follow-through

We help with what comes next: coordinating follow-up, tracking recommendations, or continuing as your advocate across future appointments for as long as it's helpful.

    • Coordination
    • Ongoing support if you want it

Your written summary

Something you can keep, share, and act on.

Important conversations are hard to remember, especially under stress. Your summary captures everything in one place, written so it makes sense to you and to the family members you choose to share it with.

Summaries are reviewed and approved by your advocate before they're delivered to you.
